The dates below are intended to provide a general overview of the timing of the admissions cycle. Many of these dates are estimates and will vary from year to year. Please only use this as a general guide. Admitted students should consult their admitted student communications for specific dates.
Applicants may begin submitting their applications online through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) electronic application process. All applicants to the JD program must apply electronically through LSAC. We will not accept any paper application materials.
*The LSAC electronic application is fully accessible to the visually impaired. Applicants with disabilities in need of a reasonable accommodation to complete the application process should contact the Admissions Office at 773-702-9484 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with their request.
Application deadline for the Early Decision Program and the Chicago Law Scholars Program. The application and all required application materials must be submitted by December 1.

January - March
Decisions released on a rolling basis for Regular Decision applicants. We read applications in the order they are completed. An application is considered complete if we have received your application and all required application materials. Please see the section on Decision Notification Procedures to learn more about how we notify applicants of their decisions.
We begin to release scholarship awards in early March. If you are admitted after February 1, we will send out scholarship information and financial aid packages approximately 3-4 weeks after admission.
Information on admitted student events, financial aid, housing, and other matters will be available on the Admitted Students Website (we will provide the log in and password to admitted students at the time of admission).

If you submitted an application to the Doctoroff Business Leadership Program with your JD application to the Law School, you will be contacted with instructions on how to schedule your Doctoroff interview. Interviews begin on a rolling basis in February.

Admitted Students Weekend
Deadline for submitting a seat deposit. The specific date will vary from year to year. The Admissions Office will notify admitted students of their deadline in their admission email.
Deadline for the FAFSA for priority financial aid processing (check the website for the specific dates each year).
The Admissions Office and Dean of Students Office will notify incoming students of all relevant deadlines early in the summer.
The first summer email sent to incoming students will include information on obtaining a University email account and CNetID, laptop computer recommendations, student health insurance and immunizations, first-year orientation, and other essential information.
Deadline for submitting photos for the Law School directory ("The Glass Menagerie").
Autumn Quarter tuition bills become available.
Deadline for payment of Autumn Quarter tuition bills. Incoming J.D. Student Orientation.
Late September/Early October
Law School classes begin.
