Taxi fare from:

  • Midway Airport to campus is approximately $25–$35
  • O’Hare Airport to campus is approximately $60–$80
  • Downtown to campus is approximately $20–$30.

Taxis are readily available at both airports. If you need to request a taxi, please keep the following information handy:

  • Checker Cab: 312.243.2537 or text your full name and pickup address to 312-520-3029.

If you need a taxi to pick you up from the Law School, you must call in advance. You should give them the Law School address (1111 East 60th Street).

You can also use the Uber app or Lyft app to request a ride to and from the Law School and other locations throughout Chicago.

Airport Shuttle: If you are downtown, you can easily get to the Law School by using public transportation; however, using public transportation to get to the Law School from either airport can be difficult as you will need to transfer modes of transport somewhere downtown. You may want to contact Omega Shuttle at 773-483-OMEGA (773-483-6634) or www.omegashuttle.com. Omega has designated stops at the University and around Hyde Park. Another option is Continental Airport Express at 888-2TheVan (888-284-3826) or www.airportexpress.com. If you plan to use one of these services, you should contact them before arriving in Chicago.

By bus or train

The Law School can be reached using the Chicago Transit Authority’s (CTA) public bus and train lines, as well as the Metra commuter train.

The base fare for a trip on a CTA train is $2.25 and a CTA bus is $2.00 with up to two transfers permitted within two hours for an additional $0.25. We recommend that you purchase and load money onto a Ventra card or pass (the CTA’s transit card) so that you can take advantage of the reduced prices for transfers. To learn more about how to use the CTA or to plan your trip, please visit www.transitchicago.com.

Fares for a one-way ticket on the Metra commuter train run from $3.75 to $8.00 depending on the time of day you plan to travel.

Parking

Street parking is available, but limited on campus. In addition, there are a few visitor parking lots on campus.

A limited number of visitor spots are available in the Law School parking lot (which is directly behind the Law School) on a first-come, first-serve basis. To access the Law School parking lot, turn left onto University Avenue from 60th Street.

You must obtain a parking pass to park in the Law School parking lot. Please contact the appropriate department or the individual hosting you a few days prior to your arrival to reserve your parking pass, or you can pay $10 cash at the reception desk on the first floor.
