Apply Early Decision

Applying Early Decision

If Chicago is your first choice, consider applying to our binding Early Decision program. All applicants, including Early Decision applicants, must apply and submit all application materials through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC). You must complete the 2010 Early Decision Application form and all required application components. The Law School must receive the Early Decision application and all supporting materials by December 1, 2009. Applicants must indicate their intention to apply Early Decision by selecting the Early Decision box on the application and by completing the Early Decision Agreement. You may not apply to a binding early decision program at another law school if you are applying Early Decision at Chicago.

Please note that LSAC only sends the application to the Law School when all required materials have been processed. The Admissions Office will not consider your application complete (for Early or Regular Decision deadlines) until we have received all required application materials electronically from LSAC.

The September/October LSAT administration is the last test that we will accept for Early Decision (there will be no exceptions).

Early Decision applicants will be notified that their application has been accepted, denied, or held for further review by the end of December. Admission during Early Decision is binding on the applicant. If admitted, Early Decision applicants must enroll at the Law School and withdraw all applications at other law schools regardless of their status. Some Early Decision applicants who are not admitted during the Early Decision cycle may be reevaluated during the Regular Decision cycle. If an application is held for further review and reconsidered during the Regular Decision cycle, admission will no longer be binding upon the applicant.
