Philosophy Podcasts Interview with Martha Nussbaum about ‘Justice for Animals’

Martha C. Nussbaum. Justice for animals

When I hear "justice" and "responsibility," my neck tightens, fight or flight is activated.  When I see she will use a lot of recent science, my hopes dim.  Prof. Nussbaum, however, is, as one of my previous interviewees said, "the most important living and active philosopher."  I get it. Never have I marked-up the pages of a book like this one: this isn't a book you take in so much as work with.  And having worked with it, I now see the world as less scientifically drab; it is now more shimmering and magical.  And as for "justice," the physical effect is a backbone, a posture more fortified, more bowed back.

Justice for animals: Our collective responsibility

A revolutionary new theory and call to action on animal rights, ethics, and law from the renowned philosopher Martha C. Nussbaum.
