Crain's Chicago on Sandor's Award of French Legion of Honor

French Legion of Honor for Richard Sandor

Richard Sandor, a veteran of the commodity exchange industry, has received the French National Order of the Legion of Honor. The award is the highest decoration granted by the French government.

Mr. Sandor, now a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School, said he was surprised and thrilled to receive the distinction.

“I've had a long interest in the country. I've traveled to France, worked with a lot of companies in the environmental market, and I like Paris a lot,” Mr. Sandor told me. He speaks a little French and studied the language as part of his Ph.D. in economics.
