The Immigration Law Society and the Latinx Law Society, in conjunction with our co-sponsors NLG and PILS, invite you to a discussion on Effective & Human-Centered Pro Bono Immigration Work. Please join us Monday, November 8 at 12:15pm in Room B.
Panelists include Nicholas Siciliano, a partner at Latham & Watkins and experienced immigration pro bono attorney, Diana Rashid, Managing Attorney of the National Immigrant Justice Center's Detention Project, and Professor Nicole Hallett, Director of UChicago Law's Immigrants' Rights Clinic. Topics to be discussed include:
- Managing your time between pro bono work and your billable firm responsibilities
- Being a respectful and effective partner to a public interest organization
- Being a good advocate for the client receiving pro bono services
- How to prepare oneself for pro bono immigration law work while in law school
The panel discussion will be followed by an open Q&A session aimed at providing guidance to those who are interested in incorporating immigration pro bono work into their law school and professional careers.
