Our diverse membership includes Latinos from all parts of Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, and the U.S. Our organization exists to create an academic and social support network to help students adjust to the rigors of law school.
LLSA offers programs that focus on professional and academic development, such as mock interviews and mentoring. We also bring in speakers to discuss legal issues affecting Latinos in the U.S. and abroad. Besides keeping our members abreast of scholarships, Latino-centric events, and potential employment opportunities, LLSA provides a means to be a part of and serve the broader Latino community. We participate in various service programs and endeavor to share the culture of Latino/as with the University of Chicago Law School at large.
LLSA social events are an important part of how we create our community. We host alumni mixers, potluck dinners, salsa dancing outings, museum visits, and much more. These events aim to help build community and familiarity amongst Latino and non-Latino friends and classmates. We are proud to say that the LLSA at the University of Chicago Law School is one of the most active and inclusive minority organizations.
