On behalf of The University of Chicago Law School and founding sponsor, Bartlit Beck Herman Palenchar & Scott LLP, I am pleased to invite you to the third annual University of Chicago Law School General Counsel Roundtable on June 18, 2020, at the Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago.

This invitation-only event has become an annual tradition where we bring the general counsels and chief legal officers from the nation’s leading companies together with the faculty of the University of Chicago Law School for a discussion on today’s most challenging legal questions. This year’s event will include panel-led discussions on the legal challenges associated with international volatility, questions of corporate purpose and emerging views on corporate stakeholder, and the changing landscape of government investigations and compliance. Panelists include general counsels from Amazon, Apple, and Bank of America; chief legal officers from Spotify, and Walmart; a director of three major companies; and a former top executive at GE.

There will also be special remarks by three distinguished speakers: Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division of the United States Department of Justice Brian A. Benczkowski, Mayor of Chicago Lori E. Lightfoot, and University of Chicago President Robert J. Zimmer.

The Roundtable promises to be a robust and unique discussion among the country’s leading lawyers and law scholars. We look forward to your participation on June 18.

Very truly yours,

Tony Casey
Professor of Law, and Director of the Center on Law and Finance at The University of Chicago Law School
