When President Gerald Ford nominated renowned lawyer and legal scholar Edward Levi to be United States Attorney General, Levi took over an office that had been marred by the corruption of Watergate scandal. Levi's efforts to bring transparency, independence and integrity back to the Justice Department restored public confidence at a pivotal stage in U.S. history, and in so doing, established a standard by which future Attorneys General would be measured. To mark the publication of the new book, "Restoring Justice: The Speeches of Attorney General Edward Levi" by Jack Fuller, a distinguished panel will join us to discuss his impact on the office and its evolution.
