This special program will consist of a performance of a new work "Chi" by Grammy award winning composer and University of Chicago Professor Augusta Read Thomas, performed by the Grammy nominated quartet-in-residence at the University of Chicago, Spektral. Following the performance, Professor Thomas will give a brief presentation about the "becoming" of her compositions. The program will end with comments from Professor Martha Nussbaum relating the music back to law using her philosophical expertise in the field of emotion, reasoning, and the law. Lunch will be provided.
