Presenting student organizations: Law Women's Caucus Native American Law Students Association
Mary Smith is president-elect of the American Bar Association and is the first Native American woman in this role. In August 2023, she will become president of the world’s largest voluntary association of lawyers, judges, and other legal professionals. Smith graduated from the University of Chicago School of Law, cum laude, and earned a B.S. in mathematics and computer science, magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago. She served on the law review and clerked for the Hon. R. Lanier Anderson III in the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The Diversity Scholar Speaker Series brings together members of our law school community to discuss topics varying in subject that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. Students are encouraged to engage in dialogue with invited guests. This event is co-sponsored by the Law Women's Caucus, the Native American Law Students Association, and the Dean of Students Office.
A visitor’s decision to be present on campus and/or in University facilities serves as their acknowledgment and acceptance of the potential risks posed to them by COVID-19.
