Open to the public

How do we know if crime is really up or down? What is good or bad quality crime data? Who has access? How can the public fact-check claims? These are just some of the questions this panel of academics and practitioners will discuss. In a city like Chicago, political interests often intersect with all of these questions. Each panelist will reflect on the most pressing problems concerning crime data, and the best ways Chicago can move forward to improve public safety.
