Grace Pai, a UChicago alumna, is the Executive Director of Asian Americans Advancing Justice | Chicago, where she leads strategy for issue-based campaigns and power-building work. In 2021, she led a successful campaign to require Asian American history to be taught in all Illinois public schools. Grace has spent nearly a decade organizing in Chicago toward racial, economic, and immigrant justice and has trained hundreds of organizers and community leaders across the country. This event is co-sponsored by Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA).

Thank you to Mayer Brown LLP and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP for their generous support of the Diversity Scholar Series as an Advocate Tier sponsor of the Chicago Law Partners Program.

This convening is open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements, and is a mask-optional. We strongly encourage unvaccinated individuals and those preferring masks to do so. Participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
