Two years ago, a delegation of 75 members of the American Society of International Law convened in Lviv, Ukraine, alongside 75 members of the Ukrainian Association for International Law. The “Stand Tall for the Rule of Law” Summit addressed ten pressing international law concerns raised by Russia’s brutal invasion and ongoing aggression against Ukraine.
A film crew documented portions of the Summit, alongside the unfolding tragedy in Ukraine. The documentary won the “Best Short Documentary” from the Berlin Independent Film Festival.
This event will start with the screening of the documentary film Stand Tall for the Rule of Law followed with a discussion on some of the international law issues the film addresses.
This event is cosponsored by the University of Chicago Law School's International Programs, Human Rights Law Society, and International Law Society.
Lunch will be provided. Please submit dietary requests eight business days prior to the program to Aican Nguyen at aican@uchicago.edu. Although we will try to accommodate dietary needs, it is not guaranteed.
