Please join the Criminal Law Society and American Constitution Society for a lunch talk on progressive prosecution with Larry Krasner. Mr. Krasner was officially sworn in for a second term as Philadelphia's 26th District Attorney in January 2022. Throughout his 34-year career, Mr. Krasner has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to social justice, stepping up numerous times in the past to offer his services for free to defend protesters involved with movements like ACT UP, Black Lives Matter, progressive clergy with POWER, Casino-Free Philadelphia, and DACA Dreamers. Early in his career, Mr. Krasner was a federal public defender before going into private practice as a civil rights and criminal defense attorney. In his last job before being elected, Mr. Krasner served as of-counsel at the law firm of Greenblatt, Pierce, Funt, and Flores.

This convening is open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (masking and social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.

This is a mask-optional convening. We strongly encourage unvaccinated individuals and those preferring to wear masks to do so.
