Legal observers attend protests and civil disobedience actions around Chicago to monitor interactions between protesters and police. It is rewarding, exciting, and fun, plus you get to wear a stylish hat while you do it. Past clients have included groups like Assata's Daughters, BYP100, and Jewish Voice for Peace/If Not Now (as well as coalitions like in the immigration ban airport protests). Our facilitator will be Joe DiCola, an experienced LO who is also a law student.  UChicago Law students who have participated will also hsare their experiences. For more information, check out the Chicago NLG website here.

This training, as well as any legal observing, is eligible for pro bono hours.

Please RSVP here.  Nobody will be turned away, but we ask that you RSVP beforehand to get your email and have a rough headcount for food.  Snail Thai (vegan) will be served.
