Dr. Wang will discuss How China Became Capitalist with the audience. In particular, he will address how China made its transition to market economy without the rule of law or secure property rights.

Dr. Ning Wang is Senior Fellow of the Ronald Coase Institute, International Director at the Ronald Coase Center for the Study of the Economy at Zhejiang University. Dr. Wang is a graduate of Beijing University and the University of Chicago. He is interested in economic development and China’s transition to a market economy and open society. In 2012, he co-authored with Ronald Coase How China Became Capitalist (Palgrave Macmillan).
