Join Defenders, Public Interest Law Society, and Immigration Law Society for Immigration Law and Public Defense with Hena Mansori,  Attorney Supervisor at the Cook County Public Defender.

Hena Mansori is the Attorney Supervisor of the Immigration Unit at the Law Office of the Cook County Public Defender.  At the PD’s office, Hena provides trainings and consultations regarding noncitizen clients to assistant public defenders, to ensure that clients are receiving advice regarding potential immigration consequences and are working to mitigate those consequences where possible.   She is also working towards launching a removal defense practice within the office.  Prior to joining the PD’s office in fall 2020, Hena worked at the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) for more than 12 years, most recently as the managing attorney of NIJC’s Adult Detention Project.  At NIJC, Hena represented and oversaw her project’s representation of detained immigrants in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals and provided training and consultations to criminal defense attorneys representing noncitizens through NIJC’s Defenders Initiative program.  Hena received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 2002 and her J.D. from NYU School of Law in 2006. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois.
