APALSA Presents: Leveraging Cultural Affinity in Biglaw with Winston & Strawn LLP

Date: Tuesday, March 1

Time: 12:15 to 1:20 pm

Location: Room D

Takeaway lunch provided.

APALSA is proud to host our first firm event this year! Our sponsor, Winston & Strawn LLP, is presenting three speakers* with combined 17 years of Biglaw experience, with various types of litigation, regulatory and transactional work across a range of sectors, such as Health Care & Life Sciences, Financial Services & Banking, Technology, New Media & Telecommunications, Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices, and Consumer Products.

Join us for a conversation with the speakers on how they leveraged their cultural affinities and dealt with the unique challenges and found their own ways to shine in the various professional interfaces of their Biglaw career, such as with clients, colleagues, supervisors, opposing counsels and parties, courts, and even with their own work-and-life balances.

Help us prepare by RSVP so that we can have a more accurate headcount for catering and a list of Q&A questions that you most care about! Please also contact Matthew Xu at zymxu@uchicago.edu for additional questions or accommodations.

The panel will appear remotely but the audience will gather in person in Room D.

This convening is open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements and, because of ongoing health risks, particularly to the unvaccinated, participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures (masking and social distancing, etc.) appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
