Legal Scholarship Workshop
This is a workshop designed for Junior Researchers from across the University. All nontenured professors, fellows, and students are welcome at all sessions even if they do not wish to read the papers. 1Ls interested in academia are also welcome. Senior faculty are welcome at the sessions after asking Professor Bernstein.
This year the Legal Scholarship Workshop will feature speakers from many different stages in their careers doing many different types of legal and interdisciplinary scholarship—including law and economics, law and philosophy, law and sociology, and law and organizational sociology. This will help us understand the unique benefits and challenges of writing and presenting in these different areas, and the types of topics that are best suited to junior and senior scholars. Most sessions have two presentations (two are extended by a half hour). We now have many speakers coming live while others will be virtual. This might change as the situation and rules change, but since both mediums are likely to be used by Universities even when the pandemic is a distant memory, learning how to present both live and on zoom is a useful skill to have.
