The Willem C. Vis Arbitration Moot is a prestigious international moot court competition for law students, focusing on International Commercial Arbitration. 282 universities from 68 countries competed in 2011-2012 moot. Over the course of a year, teams of six to eight students from the Law School research a wide variety of international authorities to prepare memoranda on behalf of each party to the dispute. In the spring, the team competes in oral arguments held in Vienna, Austria or Hong Kong. All students are encouraged to attend team tryouts, which are held during Autumn Quarter.
