Paul Marchegiani

Paul serves as Senior Business Affairs Executive at Amazon Studios, where he negotiates high-level talent and rights deals for scripted television productions, and advises executives and showrunners on licensing deals, budgeting, and talent relations. Prior to joining Amazon, Paul was VP, Business Affairs at both Warner Bros. Television and Miramax, and worked for six years in Business and Legal Affairs at NBCUniversal, receiving the National LGBT Bar Association's Corporate Counsel Award. Paul began his legal career as a litigator at Orrick and Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco after receiving his JD from U.C. Berkeley and a BA (History) and BMus (Voice & Opera) from Northwestern University.

In addition to his business and legal experience, Paul is an accomplished stage performer and public speaking coach. His performance credits range from classical (LA Opera, SF Symphony, CSO), to jazz (Monterey Jazz Festival, various jazz clubs), theatre (Cabrillo Music Theatre, Glendale Centre Theatre, New Musicals, Inc.), and improvisation (over fourteen years of combined study and student performances with Groundlings, UCB, Impro Theatre, and Studio ACT). Paul is currently studying with world-renowned voice, presence, and acting coach Patsy Rodenburg, and will receive his PRA certification in 2023.

Paul has taught Entertainment Law at Berkeley, and frequently teaches improvisation, presence, and performance skills to business leaders, actors, and lawyers around the country.
