Mark Cohen

Assistant Dean for Communications Communications

Prior to joining the University of Chicago Law School, Mark Cohen served as director of communications at the University of Minnesota Law School for five years. In this role, he led an award-winning communications team, overseeing the school’s print and digital publications, media relations, and overall marketing strategy.

Before transitioning to law school communications, Cohen served as a content coordinator for McGuireWoods, LLP, an Am Law 100 law firm, and as associate director for the American Bar Association’s Division for Public Education, overseeing its publications and several key outreach programs and initiatives, including national Law Day.

Cohen is a seasoned journalist and storyteller who worked for several legal trade publications, including serving as editor-in-chief of Minnesota Lawyer, managing editor of Rhode Island Lawyers Weekly, and legal editor of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.

Cohen holds a JD from Boston College Law School, an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, and a BA in English from Providence College.
