Brandi L. Welch graduated with Honors from the University of Texas School of Law and also earned a Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from the UT College of Education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining the UChicago Law, she worked at the University of Texas School of Law where she was the Director of Student Affairs and at Wayne State University in Detroit, where she was the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs. She is an active member of the National Association of Law Student Affairs Professionals and was a member of the NALSAP Board of Directors, as well as serving at the National Conference Co-Chair in 2021.

Prior to her career in higher education, Ms. Welch was an attorney in Vinson & Elkins’ New York office and at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Austin. She also served as a volunteer attorney for Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas and American Gateways.
