CJIL Symposium: Public International Law and the Role of International Institutions

A defining feature of modern international law is the breadth of topics governed by international institutions and conventions agreed to by nation-states. Yet competing interests often render such regulatory and enforcement mechanisms inadequate to address the goals and needs of participants in international governance, including the governed. This year, we explore how current regimes influence international actors' decision-making, and how such regimes may be improved.

Please join us for our second annual symposium, featuring students' work with, and scholarship on, public international legal institutions. The Keynote Address will be delievered by Professor Ian Hurd of Northwestern University, and will offer a political perspective on international law.
