Over the past twenty years there has been an explosion of research showing that emotional intelligence competencies are much higher predictors of success and well-being than raw intelligence, or “IQ”. People with high emotional intelligence are more resilient, optimistic, self-confident, and successful - in work and in life. As a result, organizations have recognized the important role that emotional intelligence plays in leadership development and employee engagement. The good news: emotional intelligence skills can be learned through practice!
