Mishita Jethi, LLM ’14 on why she gives, the community, and how some people at the Law School are like family to her
One year is a short time to make yourself feel at home, but plenty of time to find a family! Many members of the UChicago Law School and the Class of 2014 have become like family to me. It has more to do with the warmth of the place (metaphorically, of course) and its culture, than the length of the time we spent here as students. I would want to foster and nurture the relationships I have made this year for the rest of my life. This is a small way of showing my gratitude to this community, which welcomed and supported me this year. Even if a miniscule part of what I have given back helps another student to become a member of the UChicago Law School community, I will feel like my bond with this place has deepened.
