Frank D. Mayer, Jr. (Denny) passed away July 27, 2026, at his home in Northfield, IL. The oldest of three children, he was born in 1933 to Katherine Mayer (née Selz) and Frank Mayer.
Denny graduated from Amherst College in 1955, was a Fulbright Scholar at Cambridge University in 1956, and received a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1959. He married Linda Moyer in 1957 and had three children: Polly, Kate, and Greg. Denny was a dedicated lawyer at Mayer Brown & Platt, served as the chairman of the board at Michael Reese Hospital, was a board member of Reading is Fundamental, and President of the Alumni Association at U of C Law School.
