Jeanne Boxer Ettelson
Jeanne Boxer Ettelson, an accomplished attorney, dedicated philanthropist, and treasured member of her family and community, passed away on April 23, 2026, at the age of 76.
Born on January 21, 1950, in New York, Jeanne was the youngest of three children and the only daughter of Daisey and Fred J. Schumacher III. The first in her family to attend college—a distinction reflecting both her intellect and determination—she graduated summa cum laude from St. Lawrence University in 1972 with a degree in Political Science and Government. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Chicago Law School in 1983, where she was inducted into the prestigious Order of the Coif.
