Professor Darrell A. H. Miller had more scholarly briefs cited by the US Supreme Court over the last decade than any other scholar in the nation, according to a recently published SCOTUSblog article

Miller was a signatory on five separate scholarly briefs cited in opinions.

This article examined an original dataset of 103 scholar briefs and over 2,300 individual scholars cited by the Supreme Court between the 2015-16 and 2024-25 terms.

Miller, the Harry N. Wyatt Professor of Law, is a scholar of civil rights, constitutional law, civil procedure, state and local government law, and legal history. With Joseph Blocher, he is author of The Positive Second Amendment: Rights, Regulation, and the Future of Heller, published by Cambridge University Press in 2018. Blocher, a professor at Duke Law, had four of his briefs cited.

The SCOTUSblog article also included the University of Chicago Law School on a list of schools that have generated repeated US Supreme Court citations across different doctrinal contexts.
