Marin Boney, ’08, Joins Freshfields’ DC Office
Freshfields Hires Kirkland Antitrust Partner In DC Office
Freshfields LLP has hired a career Kirkland & Ellis LLP antitrust partner in Washington, D.C., who is joining the group to work with merger control issues for private capital clients, Freshfields announced Monday.
Marin Boney spent the past 16 and a half years at Kirkland, being hired at the firm after earning her degree from the University of Chicago Law School. Boney represents clients before the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice on merger reviews and cross-border transactions, Freshfields said.
Boney joins Freshfields' antitrust, competition and trade practice group, where she'll advise private equity firms, corporations and portfolio companies on regulatory risks, according to her firm profile. She helps clients structure deals and guides them on partner arrangements and other competition issues.
Before earning her law degree, Boney spent five years as a senior analyst for Lexecon Inc., which is now part of Compass Lexecon. In that role, Boney developed a range of experiences working on economic analysis and competition policy, Freshfields said.
Boney works with clients in the private capital, software, technology, energy, healthcare and consumer products industries, according to her firm profile.
