Room C
1111 East 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637
The FBI is widely portrayed in the news and media. But it’s not just Special Agents donning FBI raid jackets to arrest criminals! You might be surprised to learn that the FBI hires attorneys to serve in different job roles including as special agents and intelligence analysts and the FBI also currently employs hundreds of attorneys across the country that play a vital role in accomplishing the FBI mission by practicing in, and provide advice on, many different legal disciplines, including: employment law, Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act matters, policymaking, counterterrorism and counterintelligence, intellectual property and copyright law, tribal justice, victim services, and more.
The FBI’s Office of the General Counsel (OGC) practices and advises senior executives and personnel on every program that the FBI has. The OGC cadre is comprised of experienced attorneys with public service and private industry backgrounds. General Counsel Jason Jones and Chief of Staff and Senior Executive Miriam Coakley join us Wednesday, November 2, 12:15 pm – 1:20 pm in Room C from the FBI’s OGC to discuss the “who, what, where, when, why, and how” of the FBI and its attorneys – and also talk about the agent route. They will discuss what a career at the FBI could look like for you, the FBI OGC’s participation in the DOJ Honors Program, the FBI Honors Internship Program, and what it’s like to work for the nation’s premier law enforcement and intelligence agency. Lunch will be provided.
