Bridges Info Session
Room A
1111 East 60th Street, Chicago, Illinois 60637
Are you a 2L or 3L student interested in exploring how background and identity can shape the law school experience? Applications are now open for Bridges, a creative writing project in which participants develop first-person essays through guided workshops, peer review, and optional one-on-one coaching. Through Bridges, now in its fourth year, we create a culture of belonging, process our own stories, and gain perspective on experiences different from our own. We meet 12 times during the academic year, with additional (optional) community-building activities. To learn more and ask questions, join José Luis Rodríguez, the Associate Director for Diversity and Inclusion, and Becky Beaupré Gillespie, the Director of Content, at the information session.

This convening is open to all invitees who are compliant with UChicago vaccination requirements, and is a mask-optional. We strongly encourage unvaccinated individuals and those preferring masks to do so. Participants are expected to adopt the risk mitigation measures appropriate to their vaccination status as advised by public health officials or to their individual vulnerabilities as advised by a medical professional. Public convening may not be safe for all and carries a risk for contracting COVID-19, particularly for those unvaccinated. Participants will not know the vaccination status of others and should follow appropriate risk mitigation measures.
