Has social media forever changed the professional responsibility landscape for lawyers? This presentation will provide law students and practitioners with guidance on how they can adhere to their ethical obligations while maneuvering the ever-changing technological environment. Utilizing ARDC regulatory statistics, real-world examples, precedent and hypotheticals, Ms. Melissa Smart will discuss how social media can be both boon and bane to lawyers, and how lawyers can ethically manage their public-facing persona so as not to run afoul of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
A visitor’s decision to be present on campus and/or in University facilities serves as their acknowledgment and acceptance of the potential risks posed to them by COVID-19.
