It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Wallace J. (Wally) Stenhouse, Jr.
Wally, beloved husband of Elaine (nee Lange), left the world peacefully surrounded by his family on August 17th, 2025. Wally was born on February 25th, 1927 to Christine and Wallace Stenhouse in Oak Park, Illinois, and was raised in Oak Park and River Forest, Illinois. After graduating in 1945 from Oak Park-River Forest High School, Wally immediately joined the U.S. Navy and was sent to the University of Nebraska as part of an Officers Training program. At the end of WWII, he retired from the Navy and transferred to Yale University, where he finished his undergraduate degree. He later received his law degree from University of Chicago Law School. A lifelong learner, Wally also took countless classes at the Graham School Basic Program, University of Chicago.
