Thomas D. Hanson
Thomas “Tom” Hanson, age 79, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away at Wesley on Grand Health Center on April 3, 2024, following a recent diagnosis of cancer.
On November 10, 1944, Tom was born to William C. and Ruth Hanson in Jefferson, Iowa, and he was raised with five siblings. He earned an undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Iowa in 1967, where he served as student body president during the challenging Vietnam War era, and a law degree from the University of Chicago in 1970.
