Crain’s 2019 Notable Gen X Leaders in Law

Teresa Wilton Harmon is the managing partner of Sidley’s nearly 500-attorney Chicago office. She also co-chairs Sidley’s new-business committee. As a global finance partner, Harmon represents banks, corporations and Chicago-based clearing organizations in lending, securitization, collateral management and defaults. She uses commercial law to finance digital assets and to build and navigate blockchain and virtual currency platforms. She is a founding member of the Uniform Commercial Code study committee on emerging financial technologies, which will shape the law in this developing area. Harmon is a vice president and a member of the council of the American Law Institute, a national law reform organization. As firmwide chair of Sidley’s training and professional development committee, Harmon mentors the next generation of Sidley lawyers.
