Obituary: Stephen Canders
Stephen Canders, 75, of Kennebunk, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, at his home, having lived a full and laugh-filled life.
He was born in Portland and is a graduate of Bethlehem Central High School in Bethlehem, N.Y., Colby College and the University of Chicago School of Law. Stephen always stated that the most challenging and fulfilling education he ever received was at BCHS, and that he was honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to attend U of C Law School. He lived from one end of the State of Maine to the other, in Washburn, Augusta and Kennebunk.
A part of his law career was spent as general counsel for the Finance Authority of Maine.
