Ronald S. Goldblatt, '75, Appointed to Governor's P-20 Council of Maryland

Governor Martin O'Malley today announced the appointment of Ronald S. Goldbaltt, '75, to the Governor's P-20 Council of Maryland. The 2010 legislature codified the Governor's P-20 Leadership Council of Maryland (formerly created by Executive Order 01.01.2007.20), adding new positions to the membership list.

"Since its inception in 2007, the P-20 Council has worked hard to help us reform our education systems and strengthen our workforce through college and workforce preparedness, STEM, CTE, and principal and teacher recruitment and retention," said Governor O'Malley. "That hard work is part of a long-term strategic policy initiative aimed at reforming Maryland's public schools and has earned us a $250 million grant from the federal Race to the Top program. I am confident that these new Council members will add the value of their extensive business and education expertise to help us ensure that every child receives the world-class education they deserve."

Ronald S. Goldblatt, Esquire is the Executive Director of the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS) that represents 115 independent schools serving over 45,000 students. Prior to being the Executive Director of AIMS, he served as the Headmaster at The Key School in Annapolis. He began his career as a lawyer in Chicago after earning a J.D. at the University of Chicago Law School. Mr. Goldblatt is a resident of Anne Arundel County.
