Meghan McElvy, ’08, Joins O’Melveny’s Houston Office as Partner

O’Melveny Welcomes Respected Houston Energy Litigator Meghan McElvy

O’Melveny announced today that respected Texas trial lawyer Meghan McElvy has joined the firm’s Houston office as a partner in its General Litigation Practice Group and Energy Industry Group. Her addition further expands O’Melveny’s acclaimed roster of Texas litigators and bolsters the firm’s formidable energy sector capabilities. 

McElvy brings more than 15 years of litigation experience representing energy clients in high-stakes cases in state and federal courts, as well as before domestic and international arbitral forums. She focuses her practice on legal and operational issues arising from the development of shale and drilling throughout Texas and across the US, including joint operating and joint development agreements, participation agreements, royalty obligations, surface use rights, mineral titles, mineral liens, oilfield services, gas gathering, processing facilities, and disputes involving oil and gas leases. She also advises midstream clients, as well as renewable energy and LNG companies, in a variety of consequential matters. Additionally, McElvy’s commercial litigation experience includes defending clients against multimillion-dollar personal injury claims involving energy infrastructure. And she has represented clients in contested regulatory proceedings before the Texas Public Utility Commission and Texas Railroad Commission.
