Maria Lanahan, ’13, Confirmed as Federal Judge for the Eastern District of Missouri
Senate Confirms Florida And Missouri Judges
The U.S. Senate confirmed two judges Tuesday, one for Florida and the other for Missouri.
The Senate voted 53-45 to confirm U.S. Magistrate Judge Kyle Christopher Dudek to serve as a district judge for the Middle District of Florida, and 52-45 to confirm Maria Lanahan, principal deputy Missouri solicitor general, to the Eastern District of Missouri.

Lanahan has been in her current role since January. She was previously deputy solicitor general for Missouri.
"Maria Lanahan is an experienced attorney of the highest intellectual and moral quality who will make a fantastic judge for years to come," Sen. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said in a statement Tuesday. "During my tenure as Missouri [attorney general], I was deeply impressed by her work, wealth of knowledge, and tireless devotion to the Constitution and the rule of law."
