Lyle Anderson, '82: To Retire from the Seventh District Court on July 1

Judge Anderson to Retire

Judge Lyle R. Anderson has announced his retirement from the Seventh District Court on July 1.

Anderson announced his retirement in a letter to Utah Governor Gary Herbert on January 2.

Anderson said it was a privilege and great honor to serve as a Seventh District Judge since 1993.

However, he added, “I believe it is now time to move on to something else and for someone else to take up the responsibilities of this office.”

The State of Utah will begin the process to replace Judge Anderson. He is currently the longest-serving district judge in the state of Utah.

Anderson received a law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1982. Prior to his appointment to the bench, he was affiliated with Anderson & Anderson from 1982 to ‘92, and was Grand County attorney in 1991 and ‘92.
