The University of Chicago Legal Forum is excited to announce that we are now accepting abstracts and drafts for our 2010 Volume and Symposium, Crime, Criminal Law, and the Recession. Authors selected for publication must present their article at the Legal Forum Symposium on October 23-24, 2009, at the Law School and submit a publication draft by early January 2010.

The Symposium will provide one of the first opportunities for scholars and practitioners to explore an overlooked aspect of the current recession — changes in crime and criminal law. We invite thinkers from all disciplines, including law, economics, sociology, political science, and public policy. Topics may include the impact of inequality on crime, state budget constraints and changes in punishment and sentencing, alternative crime prevention strategies, and white-collar and corporate crime.

Interested authors should submit a CV and abstracts or drafts via email at UChicago.LegalForum@gmail.com.  The submission deadline is August 1, 2009.
