Edward (Ned) Wahl '83 Appointed Minnesota State District Court Judge

Edward (Ned) Wahl, a partner in the finance and restructuring group at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP, has been appointed a district court judge in Minnesota's Fourth Judicial District by Governor Mark Dayton. Martha Holton Dimick and Kathleen Sheehy were also appointed.
As a partner in the finance and restructuring group at Faegre Baker Daniels, Wahl focuses on complex commercial, contract and business tort litigation involving financial institutions, fiduciary duties and fraud.

"I am honored to be appointed to the Fourth Judicial District by Governor Dayton," stated Wahl. "I look forward to serving the people of Hennepin County."

Wahl's experience includes a clerkship for the Honorable Gerald W. Heaney, the United States Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit. His legal work has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Commercial Litigation, 2010-12; Super Lawyers, Business Litigation, 1999–2011; and Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business, Litigation: General Commercial, 2007.

Throughout his career, Wahl has been committed to pro bono representation of clients. He regularly represents guardians ad litem, volunteers with Hennepin County's LAP Clinic and assists various other individuals and organizations. He is an active member of the Minnesota Private College Council's board and executive committee. He is a board member of the Urban Debate League, as well as Milkweed Editions. He also serves on the steering committee for the YWCA's annual program, It's Time to Talk about Race, and has served as chair of the nominations committee for the Hennepin County Bar Association.

Wahl earned his law degree at the University of Chicago Law School, received a master's degree from the University of Virginia and earned his bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.
