David McIntosh, '83, Named New President of Club for Growth

Washington, DC – The Club for Growth today announced that after nearly six years as President, Chris Chocola is retiring from the role and will remain a member of the board of directors. At a meeting this week, the board of the Club for Growth officially named former Indiana Congressman David McIntosh President. Congressman McIntosh will officially become President on January 1st, 2015.

“It was an honor to serve as the head of the Club for Growth and I’m proud to have served during a time when we made unprecedented advances in our mission of promoting economic freedom,” said Club for Growth President Chris Chocola. “Thanks to Club members, our former President, Pat Toomey, is now a distinguished member of the United States Senate, and Club members strongly supported future leaders of the Republican Party like Tom Cotton, Ben Sasse, Dan Sullivan, Mike Lee, Tim Scott, Jeff Flake, Ron Johnson, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul through the Club’s PAC. The Club for Growth is the most effective advocate for pro-growth policies in Washington, and I know it will only get stronger under David’s leadership.”

“The Club for Growth is known as America’s premier organization for fighting big-government liberals in both parties, and I’m looking forward to building on that reputation,” said Club for Growth President-elect David McIntosh. “The Club is the tip of the spear when it comes to holding Members of Congress accountable for their actions, and we’ll continue to do just that under my leadership. Chris Chocola has left a legacy of strong leadership that I hope to add to in the coming years.”
