David J. Chizewer '91 Elected President of the Board of The Chicago International Charter School

David J. Chizewer, Principal in the law firm of Goldberg Kohn Ltd., was recently elected President of the Board of The Chicago International Charter School (CICS).The CICS is the nation's largest charter school, and a frontrunner in thought leadership in the school reform movement. It operates a network of 13 campuses across the city of Chicago serving more than 8,000 students in Pre-K through 12th grade.

The CICS was founded on the belief that every child has the right to a high quality education. The mission of CICS is to provide, through innovation and choice, an attractive and rigorous college-preparatory education that meets the needs of today's students.

Mr. Chizewer has been featured in the National Law Journal's list of 10 of the nation's top litigators and in 2007, he was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by the Public Justice Foundation. He received his law degree from the University of Chicago in 1991 and his B.A. in economics, magna cum laude, from Pomona College in 1988.
