On April 22, 2021, the American Constitution Society and the Federalist Society welcomed Justice Thomas Balmer, '77 (Oregon Supreme Court), Judge James Ho, '99 (5th Cir.), and Judge Ann Marie Donnelly (E.D.N.Y.). In a discussion moderated by Professor Jonathan Masur, these judges spoke about various aspects of their career and work on the bench, including the types of cases and challenges they faced. In addition, audience members obtained key insights into what judges look for in an oral and written advocate; what they look for in a clerk; and how courts have coped with the COVID pandemic. Following this lunch talk, our distinguished speakers served as Justices of the 2021 Hinton Moot Court Finals.
