Charles Smith '87 Presented with Spirit of Justice Award by Appleseed and Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice

Charles F. Smith, of Winnetka, a partner in litigation practice at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, was honored with the Spirit of Justice Award by Appleseed and Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice at their Pillars of Justice Awards March 22 in Chicago.

Smith is a former president of the board of Chicago Appleseed and a former member of the national Appleseed board of directors. He was honored for his efforts to promote and practice pro bono work and his long-time service as a board member and champion of both organizations.

Smith also heads the firm’s Chicago office pro bono program and is the office attorney development partner. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Chicago Law School in 1987.
