Benjamin Flowers, ’12, Moves to Ashbrook Byrne Kresge as Partner

Ashbrook Byrne Adds Ohio's Former Solicitor General

Former Ohio Solicitor General Benjamin Flowers is moving to a partner position at Cincinnati-based boutique firm Ashbrook Byrne Kresge LLC following four and a half years representing the Buckeye State and its agencies in cases anywhere from the state appeals court to the U.S. Supreme Court.

Ashbrook Byrne announced that Flowers was joining its ranks Friday and touted his record arguing on behalf of the Buckeye State as its tenth solicitor general, including a "perfect 3-0 record in en banc arguments" before the Sixth Circuit and a successful argument against the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's COVID-19 vaccine or testing requirement for private businesses with 100 employees or more. The small firm has local government, litigation and outside general counsel practices.

Flowers told Law360 Monday that serving as Ohio's solicitor general "was and remains a dream job" but that he wanted to return to private practice to be able to better provide for his family, and that Ashbrook Byrne was immediately an attractive place to go.
