Anne Kimball, JD ’76, Recognized Among Most Influential Women Attorneys in Illinois by Law Bulletin Publishing

Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon LLP is pleased to announce that Anne G. Kimball, a partner in its Litigation Practice, has been recognized by Law Bulletin Publishing Company on its 2011 “Women Making an Impact” list. The list honors 12 women attorneys making the greatest impact on the legal profession in Illinois. Law Bulletin Publishing Company, publishers of Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin, selected its list using a combination of peer nominations and its own research. The full list was published in the May issue of Chicago Lawyer.

In recognizing Kimball, Law Bulletin Publishing noted that she is a pioneering litigator with finely honed negotiating skills, as well as an inspirational mentor to young women attorneys. It also cites the numerous precedent-setting opinions she has secured, including Pelman v. McDonald’s Corp.; Bertovich v. Advanced Brands & Importing Co., et al.; and Copier v. Smith & Wesson Corp., a case that elevated her national reputation as a leader in firearms cases after she successfully defended against claims that the negligent distribution of firearms caused criminal violence.

Kimball’s practice focuses on complex litigation, particularly in the area of class actions, emerging theories of liability, and industry-wide defense. She has represented manufacturers of firearms, alcoholic beverages, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and other consumer products, both locally and on a national level. This representation has included trials before state and federal courts around the country, as well as counseling on issues such as product recalls, product warnings, design considerations, and trade association relations. Kimball has practiced at Wildman Harrold since 1976 and has been a partner since 1982. She has served on the firm’s Management Committee and Compensation Committee and was the firm’s General Counsel from 1996 to 2001.
